Are You Coachable?
I have the pleasure of coaching some amazing, driven, determined people in my Relentless Athletic Training classes. Athletes who, just like me, made the decision to join the CrossFit Central community and take on some of the toughest workouts they’ve ever seen. What spurred us into action? For some it was inspiration - this is why I joined as a client over 3 years ago. I was inspired by the...

Mile Run Benchmark
This week in Relentless ATX Athletic Training classes, athletes took on the mile run benchmark. This benchmark comes up every 3 months, and each time we do it, we see improvements in times scored by our athletes. It is not unusual for athletes to set personal records during this benchmark, making it one of the most exciting and anticipated benchmark workouts we do in class. Don’t get me...

Pumpin' & Shreddin' All Day
I’m 6 weeks into training for my first Figure Competition and am continuing to see results. This week at my regular pinch session, I lost 2lbs and another 1% body fat. I feel good in my clothes and lighter on my toes, and I have plenty of energy. I feel strong during my workouts and fast in my sprint sessions.
The abs are becoming more and more visible each week. This week, I also noticed...

From "Go" Muscles to "Show" Muscles
My journey from CrossFit to Bodybuilding
I laugh as I write this…
How can a functional fitness junkie go from snatches and deadlifts, to incline press and leg curls? Is it possible to step on the elliptical machine without feeling ashamed? Will I ever get to eat bacon again? Will they take away my kool-aid and kick me out?
These are all questions that stream through my mind as I walk...

Specific goals are an absolute MUST, but there are a few goals that would benefit every single one of...

"Do I Stink?!" A fresh post about deodorant.
Have you heard that after using the same deodorant for a few months it stops working? It’s true. Totally happened to me. I used to use Secret Clinical Strength in Marathon Fresh scent with no problem. Then, out of no where, it stopped working. After a few days of smelling like a barn, I decided to try a new deodorant. This time Dove Clinical Strength (“clinical strength” as in I...

My Core Values
Your core values are the values and beliefs that define you and your life. Deciding to endorse your highest personal core values is likely the most important step in personal development. "No Time" is No Excuse - Killer 15min WOD
I did this with my Little Stacy Park boot camp on Wednesday and it ROCKED. Take it on tonight before you hit Happy Hour and earn that margarita!
Every minute on the minute complete the specified number of reps as quickly as possible. Rest for the remainder of the minute. The quicker you go, the more rest you get - SIMPLE! (But, not easy!)
5, 1 minute-long rounds each (complete all 5 rounds of...

Sean's Optimal Health
My client Sean recently had his cholesterol levels checked and was declared to have “elite” heart heath. Sean and his girlfriend Lauren (pictured below) have been on a steady Paleo nutrition plan and attend boot camp twice/week. They recently joined CrossFit Central indoor CrossFit programs as well. Sean’s looking and feeling great!
Let’s see how his numbers compare to the...
