Be Bold. This is my 2012 Motto.
Why? Most progress has been led by people who were bold - scientists, public figures, artists, entrepreneurs…those who didn’t wait for opportunities. Rather, they created opportunities. They didn’t die hesitating, they took action. That doesn’t mean they didn’t fail. In fact, they failed over and over again. Which is why they succeeded. They were relentless in their pursuit.
I know many people who have amazing ideas, intentions, plans, and dreams, but lack the ability to take action for whatever reason. I have a gift for taking action and making things happen and not being afraid to move forward. I believe it is my duty to not only take action on my dreams, but to also inspire those around me to to the same. And that is what I will do in 2012.
My action plan to be bold:
Do something every week that challenges my old ways and/or norms. Break out of my comfort zone and do something a little scary. I want to feel exhilaration! Boring is the enemy.
Make the first move. Initiate new projects, meet new people, try new things, go to new places without waiting for an invitation. Give my pride a rest and take a risk. I see, I want, I take. Veni, vidi, vici!
Do something unpredictable. Like compete in a Fitness Competition, or come out from behind a brand and become a brand. I’m not one to like the spotlight, but that is changing in 2012. Bring it!
Ask for what I want. In all relationships - personal and business. I know what I offer and what I deserve (not entitlement, but self worth!). I’m not going to wait to be recognized, I’m just going to ask for it and not feel selfish. At the very least, it can start a negotiation. ;)
Let my light shine. Who am I not to use my talents and gifts? The fire within is burning bright.
Side motto: ”Pump and Shred”: I will enhance the good (“pump”), and ditch the bad (“shred”). Applies in all aspects of my life - spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and fiscally.
